The phrase "the planets are aligned" often signifies a moment of significance—an opportunity for transformation, when events seem to fall into place.
With this in mind, it is noteworthy that as Donald Trump embarks on what is expected to be a transformational final term as President, an extraordinary celestial event is unfolding: a six-planet alignment, also known as a planetary parade.
A planetary parade occurs when multiple planets, despite their varying orbital speeds and distances, align along the Sun’s ecliptic, appearing in a line across the sky. While such alignments are not unheard of, a six-planet formation is relatively rare. This particular alignment—featuring Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune—has captured the attention of the astronomical community.
According to skywatchers, the best time to observe the parade was in late January, shortly after sunset. To see it, look southwest for the brilliance of Venus and Saturn, then scan overhead and eastward to locate the others.
The climax of this event occurred on February 28, when a seventh planet, Mercury, joins the lineup—forming a rare seven-planet parade, an occurrence that happens only once every few decades.
Adding to the spectacle, this year’s alignment is visible in the early evening, making it accessible to more observers, and during the winter months, when celestial objects appear brighter due to the lack of atmospheric haze. It is as if the heavens are extending an invitation to look up.
Implications
Since God created the celestial bodies as signs to mark significant times (Genesis 1:14), the timing of this year’s planetary alignment is especially intriguing:
Mercury, the planet that completes the alignment, holds profound symbolism:
It enters the constellation Pisces, the fish—a symbol of the Church.
It is associated with Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles (Acts 14:12 KJV).
Being the closest planet to the Sun, it evokes the nearness of the Lord (Psalm 84:11; 19:5).
It completes its orbit in 88 days—Mercury’s rapid cycle suggests imminent and swift change.
The alignment reaches completion as the 12th biblical month, Adar, begins. Historically, Adar marks:
The final month of Israel’s enslavement in Egypt before deliverance at Nisan.
Purim, the festival celebrating the Jews' deliverance from annihilation in ancient Persia (Esther 9:26–32).
A Blood Moon Over America
Two weeks after Mercury completes the planetary parade, on the festival of Purim (March 14), another celestial event occurs: a blood moon eclipse over the United States—the nation home to nearly half the world's Jewish population.
Notably, this blood moon happens two weeks before the anniversary of the American solar eclipse at last year’s Nisan. The combination of a darkened sun and a blood moon over the U.S. in a single biblical year is an exceptionally rare pattern—one not seen again this century.
The heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1), and this year’s planetary alignment, coupled with significant solar and lunar eclipses, suggests that we are entering a period of swift and monumental change.
While these signs may foreshadow trouble for those unprepared, for believers, they serve as a beacon of hope.
Notes
About the 2025 planetary alignment: Science Alert
The first major viewing opportunity was January 21, coinciding with the Last Quarter Moon.
On the day Mercury joins the parade in Pisces, the Moon aligns with the Sun in Aquarius—symbolizing the Church (Moon) and the Bridegroom (Sun) in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
In Roman mythology, Mercury was the fleet-footed messenger between gods and humans. The Romans called Paul Mercury because he was the chief speaker (Acts 14:12 KJV).

The U.S. will not witness another total solar eclipse followed by a total lunar eclipse until 2045 and 2048, and those do not occur within a single biblical year as in 2024–25.
